Smart Class App is a learning management platform used by schools, colleges and coaching
institutes ("Institutes") to manage classes, study material, tests, attendance, fees and
communication. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how
we handle it.
Each Institute controls the data of its own students and staff. We process that data on the
Institute's behalf, and every account is scoped to the Institute it belongs to.
Information we collect
Account details — name, roll or registration number, batch and branch, email address, mobile number, date of birth, gender and profile photo, as provided by you or by your Institute.
Guardian details — parent or guardian name and contact number, where the Institute records them.
Academic activity — attendance, test attempts and scores, assignment submissions, lecture and study-material access, report cards and other progress records.
Fee and payment records — invoices, dues, receipts and payment status. Card and bank details are never stored by us; payments are handled by our payment gateway.
Device and technical data — device model, operating system, app version, push notification token, IP address and log data used for delivering notifications, security and troubleshooting.
Content you upload — answer sheets, doubts, queries and files you submit through the app.
How we use the information
To provide the app: authentication, timetables, lectures, study material, tests and results.
To let your Institute track attendance, performance and fee status.
To send notifications about classes, tests, results, fees and Institute announcements.
To process fee payments and issue receipts.
To keep accounts secure, prevent misuse and diagnose technical problems.
To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Sharing of information
Your information is shared only with:
Your Institute — its authorised teachers and administrators.
Parents or guardians — where the Institute has linked them to a student account.
Service providers that help us run the app:
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications.
Razorpay — online fee payments.
Amazon Web Services — hosting and file storage.
Authorities, where disclosure is required by law.
Data storage and security
Data is stored on secured servers in India. Access is restricted to authorised personnel,
passwords are stored in encrypted form, and traffic between the app and our servers is
encrypted in transit. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take
reasonable measures to protect your information.
Data retention
We retain account and academic records for as long as your Institute keeps you enrolled, and
afterwards only for the period required for academic, accounting or legal purposes. Records
are then deleted or anonymised.
Children's privacy
The app is used by school and college students, including minors. Accounts for minors are
created by the Institute with the consent of the student's parent or guardian, and are used
strictly for educational purposes.
Your rights and account deletion
You may ask to view, correct or delete your personal information. Because academic records
belong to your Institute, deletion requests must be submitted to your Institute, which will
action them with us. See the

Permissions used by the app
Notifications — to deliver class, test, result and fee alerts.
Camera and storage — to upload a profile photo, answer sheets or doubt images, and to download study material.
All permissions are optional and are requested only when the related feature is used.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be published on this
page with a new "Last updated" date.
